Nicole Penley, outreach services specialist, will lead a training session dealing with basic techniques for repairing circulating books. Basic Book Repair participants need no previous experience in repairing books. Each participant will receive a small book repair kit and manual. Participants are encouraged to bring 2-3 books in need of repair, which will be used for discussion purposes only.
Learn how to:
• Determine which books are appropriate candidates for in-house book repair
• Identify tools appropriate for book repair
• Utilize simple book repair techniques, including repairing torn pages, tipping in loose pages, tightening loose hinges, and repairing broken text blocks
Want to learn these skills but can’t attend this session? Contact Nicole Penley to schedule a possible training option at your library.
