|Library Talks: Basic Book Repair Training|

Nicole Penley, Outreach Services Specialist at SCKLS, will lead a training session dealing with basic techniques for repairing circulating books. Basic Book Repair Training Session participants need no previous experience in repairing books. Each participant will receive a small book repair kit and manual. Participants are encouraged to bring 2-3 books in need of repair, which will be used for discussion purposes only.
Determine which books are appropriate candidates for in-house book repair
Identify tools appropriate for book repair
Utilize simple book repair techniques, including repairing torn pages, tipping in loose pages, tightening loose hinges, and repairing broken text blocks

This training is designed for individuals who are new to working in a library and may be used towards acquiring a Basic Library Skills Training certificate.
