|Library Talks: Using Sync Audiobooks with Teens|
Event Type: Continuing Education|
Start Time: 9:00 AM
End Time: 12:00 PM
Public librarians looking for a fun and easy teen program to provide at your library this summer? School librarians interested in learning how to use audiobooks in your curriculum? Try Audiobook SYNC! Audiobook SYNC is a free audiobook literacy program which introduces teens to the audiobook experience. Each week from April 26 to July 25 Audiobook SYNC will provide two thematically paired audiobooks which the user gets to keep forever! One theme from last year was "What's the Human Future?" featuring M.T. Anderson's Feed and Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In this training you will learn how the program works, gain ideas on how to create and promote the program, learn how to use audiobooks to develop literacy skills, and discover your listening style. Feel free to bring a smart phone or tablet to set up and get ready.
