What is BLaST?
BLaST, or Basic Library Skills Training, is made up of quarterly, day-long sessions focusing on fundamental skills and best practices in the field of librarianship. This continuing education opportunity is geared toward library employees who are new to the profession, or those who simply wish to brush up on their skills.
Participants will enjoy active engagement with SCKLS staff members and each other as we offer educational opportunities in a variety of formats on topics ranging from customer service and reader’s advisory to computer maintenance and cataloging. If you do it in a library, we’ll discuss it and send you home with the basic skill set needed to succeed at it!
