The annual Summer Read Program training workshop will be held Friday, March 10 from 9 to 3 at the Wichita State University Metropolitan Complex.
The annual Summer Reading Program starts out with presentations from SCKLS librarians on Summer Reading Program topics. Next a Construction Fair will be provided for participants to build relationships and browsing displays. Keynote presenter Sherry Norfolk will talk about active and passive programming adapted for small, medium and large libraries. During the lunch hour, SCKLS staff will facilitate an open discussion of Summer Reading Program topics for workshop participants to brainstorm. In the afternoon session, Sherry Norfolk will focus on tween, teen, and special programming. Pre-registration is required and closes on February 17, 2017. This session is limited to 100 participants. Buffet lunch will be offered at a cost of $7.50.
